Arrive at the airport or we’ll meet you at a London hotel; no matter the time, we will be there waiting for you and ready to begin the relaxing journey to Well Cottage with a refreshing glass of champagne and a selection of canapes – only the best way to start your luxurious vacation!
Settle down into your new home for the week, enjoy a cup of tea or something a bit stronger, relax in the garden or venture out for a walk in the countryside.
Indulge in a delicious welcoming meal prepared by chef Laura.
Rise and shine! Wake up to the smell of coffee, already brewed and waiting for you, accompanied by freshly prepared breakfast. Enjoy while overlooking the far-reaching, scenic views from the garden room. Your first day trip is a city excursion to the spectacular, Roman-built city of Bath. Nathan acts as both chauffeur and tour guide, taking you on a drive around the city upon arrival, to point out the highlights, such as The Royal Crescent, The Circus, Victoria Park, The Abbey and Great Pulteney Street.
You are then welcome to explore as you please. Make use of your all inclusive Roman Bath tickets and any other excursions and sights that have been booked for you. Enjoy strolling through the centre while admiring the picturesque high street, have your breath taken away by Bath’s famous Abbey, then, why not pamper yourself with some retail therapy? If it’s a nice sunny day, we recommend punting on the river – which we can arrange for you!
When you are ready to leave, Nathan will take you back to Well Cottage where Laura will have been cooking up a storm for your dinner.
After devouring Laura’s hearty breakfast, we’ll make our way to the nearby Stonehenge.
A day filled with history and mystery! Walk around the famous, mystical stone structures and then head over to Avebury for a look at their own eerily similar circle of stones, dating back to approximately 2850BC – 2200BC. Choose between a wonderful lunch awaiting you at Well Cottage for a relaxing afternoon, or enjoy a typical British meal in a local pub before visiting the city of Salisbury for the afternoon. This is a must-see as it boasts Britain’s tallest cathedral spire!
Ultimately, you will find yourself back at Well Cottage for the evening, savouring a well-deserved cocktail in the garden, while Laura prepares your dinner.
No trip would be complete without a day relaxing in and around Well Cottage. With no rush to rise, a restful lie-in with a gourmet mimosa breakfast in bed is a sure-fire way to start your day right! With so many activities like cycling, walking, horse riding, golf and local pubs to take advantage of, you are spoilt for choice. Perhaps relaxing in the garden with a good book and a cup of tea is more the pace you prefer – we will look after you all day long.
We can keep the children entertained with arts and crafts, games or even a spot of baking with Laura in the kitchen, while you have some downtime to yourself! Your inclusive in-house spa treatments can also be arranged to help you unwind while you listen to the birds sing in the garden, slowly edging towards another wonderful evening accompanied by a delicious dinner.
Day four is one of many choices! If you’d like to slow down, make this one a rest day. Explore the local area around Well Cottage, venturing out for a walk or a relaxing bicycle ride in the direction of a local pub, for a quintessentially British, thirst-quenching pint.
Another option is to visit the local National Trust site – Stourhead House & Gardens. Whatever time of year you visit England, you can guarantee that Stourhead’s gardens will be perfectly manicured boasting incredible varieties of flowers and plants in a vast array of colours, showing off nature’s beauty best.
Alternatively, Downtown Abbey fans can take a trip to Highclere Castle, the filming location of the popular TV programme!
Day four’s activities will end with another sumptuous meal prepared by chef Laura and served to your table by Nathan, accompanied by your favourite glass of wine, of course.
Well Cottage is the most ideal location across all of England for how perfectly situated it is to such an array of natural wonders. Nestled in the Dorset countryside, it is in such close proximity to one of the most spectacular coastlines in the British Isles.
Fuel up well this breakfast and get your hiking footwear on! We will drive you in comfort and style, to the south coast. En route, the views are just divine, as we wind through small hamlets and villages lined with old thatched cottages and country pubs. This panoramic drive leads us up to stunning countryside scenes, atop rolling hills.
The length of your walk is completely up to you. We can arrange for a 20-minute stroll or a five-hour hike, stopping off at pubs and cafes on the way. Whenever you’re ready, Nathan will return you to the comfort of your English cottage where you can enjoy a well-earned, relaxing shower in your luxury private bathroom. Then, indulge in a glass of wine or a cup of tea while the scent of your lovingly-prepared dinner entices you towards the dining table.
Enjoy a slow-paced morning, with Longleat House, Gardens and Safari Park being no more than a one hour drive from Well Cottage.
There’s plenty to do here for everyone and you can stay as long as you like. Look around Lord Bath’s home, walk around the immaculate grounds and gardens and take a stroll up to Heaven’s Gate. For the family, we offer an adventurous expedition through the impressive safari park before getting ‘lost’ in the world’s largest hedge maze!
As soon as you’ve seen everything, make your way back to your awaiting car, to return to Well Cottage in comfort, for your final aperitif in the garden and your last culinary delight prepared by your personal chef Laura.
It’s time to start reminiscing on the good times spent at Well Cottage. We will ensure you’re well fed before Nathan delivers you to, either your chosen airport, or your hotel in London before saying our heartfelt goodbyes.
