A stay at Well Cottage is an all-inclusive experience.
From the moment you land at the airport, until it’s time to depart, we will take care of your every need. Simply tell us how you wish to spend your time here in England and we will create the perfect bespoke itinerary.
Below is an example of a seven-day ‘excursion-based’ vacation in Dorset, in the south of England.
Remember we offer a completely tailor-made itinerary based on your preferences. If you want more ‘rest days’ and less travelling or vice versa then no problem! You’re free to change your itinerary at any point too.
Arrive at the airport or meet us at a London hotel; it doesn’t matter what time, we will be there waiting for you and ready to begin the relaxing journey to Well Cottage.
Settle in to your new home for the week, enjoy a cup of tea or something a bit stronger, relax in the garden or venture out for a walk in the countryside.
Enjoy your first delicious dinner prepared by chef Laura.
Awake to your first morning coffee and a freshly prepared breakfast overlooking the far-reaching views from the garden room. Our first day trip sees us head for the wonderful Roman city of Bath. Nathan will drive you around the city on arrival showing you all the highlights, such as The Royal Crescent, The Circus, Victoria Park, The Abbey and Great Pulteney Street.
You are then free to do as you please, make use of your all inclusive Roman Baths tickets and any other excursions and sights that have been booked for you, take a walk around the centre enjoying the picturesque high street, explore Bath’s famous Abbey, and maybe a spot of shopping! If it’s a nice sunny day why not go punting on the river?
When you are ready to leave Nathan will be ready to take you back to Well Cottage in our luxury vehicle where Laura will be busy in the kitchen preparing your dinner.
Following Laura’s hearty breakfast we’ll jump in the vehicle and make the short trip to Stonehenge.
Walk around the famous stones and then head up to Avebury for a look at their own circle of stones, which dates back to approx 2850BC – 2200BC. We can then either head back to Well Cottage for lunch and a relaxing afternoon or grab some lunch in a local pub and then visit the city of Salisbury for the afternoon – the home of Britain’s tallest cathedral spire.
Ultimately you will end up back at Well Cottage for a nice cocktail in the garden while Laura prepares your dinner.
You have plenty of options for day four. If the pace is too fast you can have a rest day today, maybe you want to explore the local area around Well Cottage, go for a walk and end up in the local pub for a pint.
Another option is visiting the local National Trust site – Stourhead House & Gardens. Whatever time of year you visit England you can guarantee that Stourhead’s gardens will be perfectly manicured producing incredibly varieties of colours and styles.
Alternatively, for Downtown Abbey fans how about a trip to Highclere Castle, the filming location of the popular TV programme?
Day four’s activities will end with another sumptuous meal prepared by chef Laura and delivered to your table by Nathan along with your favourite glass of wine.
One of the main reasons we have chosen Well Cottage, located in the Dorset countryside, is its proximity to one of the most spectacular coastlines in the British Isles.
After breakfast let’s put on our walking/hiking footwear and hop into our luxury vehicle to head for the south coast. The drive there is spectacular, winding through small hamlets and villages lined with old thatched cottages and country pubs, and then soon you’re on top of rolling hills with stunning countryside views.
The length of your walk is completely up to you: a 20-minute stroll or a five-hour hike stopping off at pubs and cafes on the way. Whenever you’re ready Nathan will return you to the comfort of your home where you can enjoy a nice refreshing shower in your luxury private bathroom and then enjoy a glass of wine or a cup of tea while enjoying smelling the flavours coming out of the kitchen.
There’s no need to rush this morning, as Longleat House, Gardens and Safari Park is no more than one hour from Well Cottage.
There’s plenty to do here for everyone and you can stay as long as you like. Look around Lord Bath’s home, walk around the grounds and gardens and up to Heaven’s Gate. For the family we can go through the safari park and of course get ‘lost’ in the world’s largest hedge maze!
When you have seen everything you want to, jump back in your luxury vehicle and head back to Well Cottage for your final aperitif in the garden and your last culinary delight prepared by your personal chef Laura.
Say goodbye to Well Cottage; we will ensure you’re well fed before Nathan delivers you to either your chosen airport or your London hotel.
